Storage policy

This Storage Policy explains how our storage solutions work and the rules that apply when we store your goods. It works alongside your Storage Services Agreement and our Terms and Conditions. When you book storage with us, the signed Storage Services Agreement is the full and binding contract for that storage; if anything here conflicts with that signed agreement, the Storage Services Agreement controls.

How our storage works

Our storage is a full-service solution, not a self-storage rental. We wrap your items, load them into our containers, store them, manage them while they're in storage, and bring them back to you when you're ready.

We may keep your goods at a storage facility operated by a third party. Your contract for storage is with G Force Moving only. You are not entering into an agreement with the facility, and you have no separate arrangement with it. You authorize us to place your goods at a facility of our choosing and to manage them on your behalf for the duration of the storage.

What we charge for

Your storage charges are made up of:

  • a storage rate, charged for each billing cycle (bi-weekly or monthly) for the space your goods occupy;
  • handling and item-management charges — wrapping with our blankets, our containers and materials, and moving your goods into and out of storage; and
  • move-in and move-out labour, charged at our Service Rate.

You choose your billing cycle. Before storage begins, we ask whether you'd prefer to be billed bi-weekly or monthly, and your choice is recorded in your Storage Services Agreement. Your exact rates and billing cycle are confirmed before any goods are stored.

Billing and payment — please read carefully

Storage is billed in advance. Each billing cycle — bi-weekly or monthly, as you choose at booking — is payable one day before that cycle begins. We do not store goods on a "pay later" basis.

A valid payment method is required at all times. You must keep a valid credit or debit card on file for the entire time your goods are in storage, and you authorize us to charge it for each cycle and for any other amounts due under your agreement. Keeping a valid, chargeable card on file is a condition of the service.

A deposit and/or pre-payment may be required before storage begins.

We are not required to pay the facility out of our own funds. We remit storage charges from the amounts you pay us in advance. If you don't pay, we are under no obligation to keep funding storage of your goods.

Accepted payment methods are cash, debit, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and Interac e-Transfer.

If payment is missed

Any storage charge not paid in advance, and any other amount not paid when due, is overdue and puts your account in default.

Overdue amounts accrue interest at 1.5% per month (19.56% per year) until paid. A returned or dishonoured payment is subject to a $50 administration fee.

We hold a lien over your goods. While your goods are in our possession, we have a possessory lien over them for everything you owe, under the Ontario Repair and Storage Liens Act and at common law. We may keep your goods until you have paid in full and, if charges remain unpaid, ultimately sell them in accordance with the law to recover what is owed.

No release until paid. We will not release or deliver your goods while any amount is outstanding.

Chargebacks and disputes

If you have a billing concern, raise it with us directly through the claims process below. You agree not to start a chargeback, stop-payment, or card dispute for storage and services properly provided. An improper chargeback is treated as non-payment: it puts your account in default, the goods stay subject to our lien, and we may recover the amount together with fees, interest, and the costs of collection (including collection-agency and legal fees).

Accessing your goods

Access to stored goods is arranged by appointment during our business hours, and your account must be paid up to date. When you're ready for delivery, give us your date and we'll retrieve everything from storage and bring it to your new location, subject to the move-out charges in your agreement.

Protection and insurance

Unless you declare a higher value in writing before storage, your goods are stored at a released value of $0.60 per pound, per article. This is the default coverage, included at no extra charge.

Basic released value protection is not full-replacement insurance. You may declare a higher value in writing, or arrange separate coverage through your home/tenant insurer or a third-party provider. We recommend doing so for high-value goods.

Goods in storage are not insured by us unless separately arranged in writing.

We are not liable for the contents of cartons you packed yourself, for inherently fragile or self-assembled items not packed by us, or for the mechanical or electrical condition of appliances and electronics.

Do not store cash, jewellery, securities, deeds, identification, prescription medication, hazardous or perishable materials, or items of extraordinary or sentimental value. We don't accept and aren't liable for these.

Claims

Note any visible loss or damage on the delivery receipt at the time your goods are delivered out of storage, before the crew leaves.

Submit all claims to us in writing, with details and photographs, within seven (7) calendar days of delivery.

All charges owing must be paid in full before a claim is reviewed.

We may inspect the affected item and, at our option, repair, replace, or pay for it up to the applicable liability limit. Please keep the item and its packaging for inspection.

Removing your goods and ending storage

To end storage, give us notice and book a move-out date. Storage charges continue to accrue until your goods are removed and your account is settled.

If your account falls into default, we may, in addition to our lien rights, decline further storage and require removal once all amounts are paid.

Governing law

This Storage Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and you agree to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Nothing in this Policy limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that can't be waived.
